You're Not Stuck
I Corinthians 10:13

1 Corinthians 10:13 says,No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

The word temptation in this verse also means test or trial. With that in mind, here are a couple of thoughts to encourage you today.

Whatever test, trial, or temptation you are facing today, it is "common to man." That means that you are not the only one who has gone through whatever you are facing. It is comforting to know that others have faced similar problems before us and made it through!

God makes a way of escape with the trial or temptation. That means you're not stuck! Before your difficulty ever arose, God designed a way of escape. And that means of escape comes with the problem.

So if you find yourself embroiled in trials, tests, or temptations today, start looking for God's way of escape - it exists. Trust Him to guide you safely through and out of your difficulties!

For Your Information

LAST SUNDAY
With school in session, we have been looking into our series Faithwork. Since it is the beginning of school, and the beginning of homework, we're talk about some practical lessons on putting our faith to the test. Over the next few weeks we are going to delve into the topics of Prayer 101, Scripture Memorization 101, Meditation 101, Fasting 101 and Service 101. We will learn the necessity of each, as well as the how-to of them. If you have missed them, please visit iTunes for previous messages.
Yesterday, we looked at probably the most misunderstood and feared aspects of our Faithwork. Fasting should be viewed as a Christian's voluntary abstinence from food (or other fleshly appetites) for a specified period of time for spiritual purposes, and that is the key, 'for spiritual purposes.' Biblical fasting is not political statement, nor a weight-loss program. It is something that we can do when we need to get serious with God. Almost everytime in God's Word, fasting is linked to prayer. To fast without prayer really doesn't do you any good. This message is on (or soon will be) our website just under the calendar as well as on iTunes. This series will be continued in two weeks with our last subject of Service 101. Next Sunday we will meet at the Midway Fire Hall at 11 AM for the Ten Year Anniversary of 9/11 Community Memorial Service. We hope to see you there.
