God's Family Tree
Luke 3

A family tree is an interesting and informative record that shows family relationships throughout many generations. Digging into your family history might reveal that you are related to presidents, kings or next door neighbors.

The Bible is full of these kinds of family history. Many genealogies tell the story of God's faithfulness from generation to generation. In Luke 3:23 we see that Jesus Christ, the only begotten of God, enters into human history and all the recorded genealogies of the Bible abruptly stop.

These records stop because our connection to God is no longer through our human ancestry but through Jesus. When we are in Christ we are connected to God and part of His family.

John 1:12-13 says, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Thank God that we've been included in God's family through Christ Jesus. We have been born into this spiritual family not based on our parent's faith but based on our believing and receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. When we read a genealogy in the Bible our hearts should be encouraged. God has entered our story and now we get the opportunity to be part of His family and His story.

Current Series

We have a choice. We can play it safe or we can seize the life God has in mind for us. What's it going to be? Come explore what can happen when we become Bold.

Last Sunday:

We started our new series called Bold by looking at Bold Witness. Boldness is behavior born out of belief. We looked at three bold facts from Acts 4. 1) God gives ordinary people extraordinary boldness. 2) Your Boldness will amaze the world. 3) Spiritual boldness comes from knowing Christ. As well, we saw that boldness is not the goal, knowing Jesus is the goal. Boldness is always a byproduct of knowing Jesus.
Sunday's message is available for streaming or downloading on our website, just under the calendar, or by visiting us on iTunes.

Next Sunday:

We continue our series of Bold. We are going to study Bold Prayer from Acts 4. We hope to see you next week!

Parsonage Fund

As of this Sunday our total offering towards the possible new parsonage totaled $17,055! I want to thank all of those who gave sacrificially and over and above your regular giving. Now, just because the offering match offer has expired, does not mean that you cannot give more to the fund. Just designate on your offering envelope and it will go towards it. Thank you so much! Praise the Lord for His goodness!
